Watoto Building Trip 2011
This entry was posted on Monday, October 11th, 2010

Urban Angels get another chance to work in Uganda with the Charity Watoto from April 19 – 28 2011. This is a life changing opportunity to give real, hands on help to the children of Watoto. It’s a working trip, not a holiday! You will visit the Watoto villages and spend time with these very special children who have been rescued from the worst of situations through the vision of Gary and Marilyn Skinner. You will also get involved in continuing to build the Gulu school, a project close to the heart of us Urban Angels.

So, girls, how about it? You will travel as part of a group and you will need to:

- fund the trip, it will cost £1450, which includes flights and accommodation
- organise your own insurance
- get your jabs and take Malaria tablets

If this sounds like a trip you can’t miss, click here for a Watoto 2011 Application Form and change your view of the world forever!

Here’s a message from Shirley Crawford who’s been on the 2009 & 2010 trips!

Urban Angels-the Watoto trip is a truly amazing experience to make a difference in the lives of the Ugandan Aids Orphans, rescued child soldiers and  single Mums and their children!

Having been on both trips arranged by ALC I have experienced first hand the laughter and tears shared as we built class rooms at Hope School for the Watoto Village, played with the children in Laroo –a rehabilitation boarding school for rescued child soldiers, and looked after the most gorgeous babies in the orphaned babies home. We had the privilege of  spending  time in Living Hope, a group restoring hope and dignity to single Mum’s who have lost husbands to Aids or the war or who have had their children abducted-there,we shared in the trauma counselling program that is radically changing their lives and ‘helped’ them make the beautiful jewellery which they sell to earn a living.  These women are truly remarkable-their stories and testimonies have to be heard to be believed.

My first trip was the fulfilment of a life long desire to go to Africa-I went for my 50th birthday-instead of having a party+ presents and on the second trip my daughter ,Fiona, did the same for her 21st birthday. It was an absolute joy to share the experience together and see God use her to make a difference in the lives she touched. It was also every praying Mother’s dream to see God work in  her life during the trip and since returning. An awesome Mums and Daughters experience!!

So Urban Angels-please consider joining  out team in April 2011-you will  never be the same again.

    Hi,

I have been accepted to go with the 2011 team to Wototo. I am so excited. I will be at the Choir’s performance on Saturday & in the Sunday morning service. I live in Derby so it would be good to meet up with someone who will be going out next year too, or who has been and can speak to me.
    regards

    Liz
