Watoto

Two million children have become orphans through HIV & AIDS in Uganda. In a country already ravaged by years of civil war, Watoto children’s villages create safe, loving environments with the vision to rescue a child, raise a leader and rebuild a nation.

Watoto Project

Your Urban Angel for Gulu School

30 000 children were abducted and used as child soldiers in Gulu, northern Uganda. Watoto has established a children’s village in this area and Urban Angels have already raised £60 000 to build a two classroom school that will rehabilitate and educate these children that were abducted, abused and forced to kill. The school is in use right now but it needs to grow! Urban Angels are supporting the building of more classrooms and can even visit Gulu as Angels on a mission to help with the building project.

This video above explains more about Watoto & our involvement. If you would like to use this video to help you in raising money, please email us and we will post you a DVD.

Watoto Project

What’s happening at Watoto?

Thanks to fantastic help from sponsors like you, Urban Angels, Watoto can continue to impact the lives of damaged children in Uganda. 20 desperate children between the ages of three and eight have recently been settled in Buloba village. They were abandoned, usually due to extreme poverty or the death of their parents and rescued by the police, who then place them with care organisations. At Watoto, these children will find a home and a mum and with love and care they will be able to start rebuilding their precious lives.

Restore Tour

The Restore Child Solider No More Tour kicked off at Wave Church, Virginia Beach in September 2010. This six month worldwide tour is coming to Abundant Life Bradford as well as other locations in the UK and will be a must see event – we’ll keep you updated on dates and tickets here at the Urban Angels site.
