Hope For Justice

Human trafficking is a global problem that is also right on our doorstep. The UK Law Enforcement Agency estimates that 70% of the 88,000 women involved in prostitution in England and Wales are under the control of traffickers. The average age of a victim of human trafficking is 14.

Hope for Justice is a human rights organisation dedicated to fighting human trafficking in all its forms. We work alongside the police, government agencies and other organisations that are fighting this terrible trade. Our aim is to:

- investigate and bring about the rescue of victims from the abuse of human trafficking
- assist in the protection and rehabilitation of victims
- ensure perpetrators are held accountable for their crimes through criminal prosecution
- campaign at a local, national and international level to highlight this issue and to ensure that there is effective legislation to combat the problem and protect the rights of the victim.

Hope for Justice passionately believe in freedom for all. As Urban Angels we are partnering with Hope For Justice to fight and to overcome the evils of the world. We are empowered by our God to make a difference, to bring about change and to actively free those trapped in violence, giving them hope and justice

“I was sold for sex when I was just 13. I can’t tell you the things they did to me, the things they made me do. They are too horrific. I wanted to die. I was stabbed in the face for trying to escape. My pimp said if I ever ran away again … he would kill me.”

*Emma, UK Child victim of human trafficking

Emma was sold by her Mother during a holiday in Italy to fund a drug addiction. From that moment on her childhood was lost forever. She was raped, beaten and forced to have sex with 100 men every day. One rich millionaire client beat Emma until she thought she would die, raped her and posted it on the internet. She was desperate, abused and broken and left with no hope.

Hope for Justice are actively involved in rescuing victims of human trafficking. Our team of specialist investigators and lawyers are working on suspected cases in the UK, gathering intelligence and liaising with the police and other agencies to bring freedom to victims. This is our heart and passion, to bring about rescue and see lives changed.

Today Emma is free because of the work Hope for Justice’s investigation unit. She is building a new life, studying at college for a career that will let her help others. Another girl who was rescued said that for the first time in her life she felt safe. We exist for girls like Emma. There are many more like them who desperately need rescuing and this spurs us on.

Statistics show that 99 per cent of trafficking victims are never rescued but we are determined to change this. Ending trafficking is a big vision, and it will take a generation of people who refuse to look on and do nothing. We are honoured to be partnering with Urban Angels, a movement of women who are committed to helping the poor, weak and marginalised. Women who will help us reach out to the Emma’s of this world and change their lives forever. Thank you for your support.
