Ok, so I am challenging the Urban Angels this month to spread some love and cookies! If you have kids then get them involved too! Your nieces, nephews, grandkids, friends, have a get together for ‘challenge cookie’!

So here’s what to do, it’s very simple:
1) Bake some cookies (or if baking’s not your thing, cheat and buy some) – it’s only going to cost you a couple of pounds and some time.
2) Once you’ve had fun with the kids baking them, then comes the doorstep delivery service. Put the cookies in a basket, make it look pretty with some napkins. Get the kids’ coats and shoes on and go down your street saying ‘we baked too many cookies and so we thought we would do a doorstep delivery!’
3) Knock on the door and say hello. Introduce yourself to your neighbours (if you don’t already know them) and tell them where you live! Or take some cookies to your office, or your local corner shop or even your petrol station! (We did that – they loved them!)

Be creative! Let us know how it goes! If you can step out of your door onto someone else’s doorstep then it’s a start. From there connections are made and barriers are brought down. Find out who in your neighbourhood may be alone, pregnant, in need and see the help that you as an Urban Angel can now be.
Get Baking!

what a wonderful idea the cookie challenge is, it is a lovely way to connect with those around us and get into their world. let the baking begin!
Love this, & it’s a fantastic way i can get my kids involved too. Time to get the oven’s on, baking tray’s out & get into the world of those around us.
Well I have just completed my first cookie challenge assignment – I was in hospital for my first session of chemotherapy for 4 days, got my mum to bake the shortbread and I shared it out with my fellow patients and staff in the Belfast Cancer Centre. Along with my special napkins stating ‘Live well, laugh often, love much”. We all had such fun enjoying some delicious home bakes and some very meaningful chats together. We urban angels have such potential!
This is a great idea. I did something similar with some genuinely left over cookies recently and met 2 new neighbours. Will be doing again very soon. Thanks for the reminder.
We baked some brownies and took them along to a nearby home for the elderly. They loved them – and it’s now become a regular feature of our work. Bringing a piece of heaven into people’s
homes!
