I’m so glad you stopped by! So what is Urban Angels all about?

Well, Urban Angels are simply a group of women committed to touching the lives of others in our world. We are reaching out where we see an opportunity to make a difference both on our doorstep and globally.

We are using our unique gifts as women to care for others in our community AND by joining together with other Angels, we are able to make a significant impact by collectively supporting the amazing work of our chosen charities.

Together we are stronger. Together we have influence. Together we will make a difference.

Let me take you on a short journey to bring you to where we are today.

Six years ago I started a women’s conference called Cherish at the Abundant Life Church in Bradford, England. I just knew God was asking me to gather the girls together, to believe in them and speak into their amazing potential. What I didn’t realise was just how essential that message was, as God had a much bigger plan: to awaken so many of His girls to their purpose, their huge abilities and their gifts that were dormant inside them.

Girls are amazing. They just have an ability to gather (girls, if we can gather to sell Tupperware, we can gather for anything), girls aren’t frightened to roll their sleeves up and just get involved. We tend to the screaming baby, help the flustered mother, pick up the left over rubbish, we just involve and often we don’t even wait to be asked, we just say ‘what can I do?’ I love that about the girls.

It’s this incredible attitude that I believe can change the lives of so many people. Over the past six years the Cherish conference has moved strongly from a place of equipping to a call to action, from a place of being believed in to a powerful voice of believing in others. It has been overwhelming to see a force of women selflessly serving others, giving to others that they will never personally meet. God has moved our hearts for our communities, both locally and around the world.

I believe this is just the start of what we can do as girls gathering. I think we can impact so many more lives. We have a gift to influence and so Urban Angels was launched at this year’s Cherish to encourage us to deepen our involvement and to gather more women for these amazing causes that we are privileged to partner with. Let’s all work together, share stories, be creative and influence those in our area with the message of hope but also rally resources in our world to help those in other parts of the world.
